“Behind the scenes of independent hip-hop there’s a network of inventive, brilliant, envelope-pushing taste-makers concocting marketing schemes to introduce dynamic new music to the world,” says Nick Gordon, chief client officer, Symphonic Distribution. “RapCon is a chance to pull back the curtain and let the mad scientists of rap marketing talk about the art behind the art.”
A pair of panels will examine effective marketing plans in hip-hop and another discusses the common artist debate of staying independent versus signing with a major label. A RapCon at Night showcase is also slated for Rough Trade with Maxo Kream headlining a bill of emerging performers.
The summit kicks off at 2:30 p.m. ET and is free of charge with RSVP.
