Celebrating the release of his debut album Victory Lap, Nipsey Hussle performed a 12-minute medley of songs from his new album at halftime of Friday’s L.A. Clippers game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Fans all over Staples Center rose to their feet to see the Atlantic artist perform, starting with the passionate title track. Hussle closed out the performance alongside fellow LA rapper YG for their hit “Last Time That I Checc’d.” This was Hussle’s first performance since his sold-out Hollywood Palladium show during All-Star Weekend last month, also in his native Los Angeles.
Hussle’s off to a great start with Victory Lap, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. “I want to effect change and I want to impact the communities that I grew up in, and the ones like it, that create the type of challenges that I felt,” he told Billboard about the project. “Whether it’s inspiring people, or it’s actually having feet on the ground, or having resources made available.
“I just want to impact the next 12-year-old Nip Hussle. I want to impact the young dudes and young girls and give them the gems I’ve learned on my path.”
