Watch what you comment on Instagram: Nicki Minaj might just respond.
That’s the lesson one fan who criticized the rapper Wednesday (Apr. 25) learned. Minaj shared a video of actress-turned-activist Gabrielle Union-Wade during an interview, although the “Chun-Li” artist is on a high from her successful latest single.
One commenter was not amused. “Girl stop posting shit and release the video,” the user said. “WE NEED A TOP5 and u posting gabby.”
Minaj evidently couldn’t give two anacondas in regards to the implication that she’s not creating hits. In a lengthy reply, she wrote in part: “Fans can’t even enjoy the music anymore. Smh. We don’t live in the moment. We’re always too busy worrying about the next one. I don’t NEED anything. I’m full of unspeakable joy, doing what I love, having gun again, making memorable/historic moments in the studio every day, feeling blessed, grateful, & experiencing it all with the best fan base on the planet. Relax babe. Queens don’t panic.”
Fans are also pining for a music video to accompany Minaj’s latest Top 10 entry, but she’s still keeping the deets under wraps.
“You’ll get the videos as soon as EYE get the videos,” Minaj continued in her response, but softened the blow with some words of affirmation. “You guys have done more than enough. Your support is unmatched.”
With 16 Top 10 hits to her name, we wouldn’t be bothered if we were Minaj, either. Looks like fans will just have to sit patiently — and quietly — for the release of the “Chun-Li” video.
