According to TMZ, sources revealed the relationship “ran out of steam” and fizzled out due to both rappers living on opposite sides of the country, with Minaj living in Miami and Nas remaining in Los Angeles. The relationship reportedly ended a few weeks ago and was an amicable split, though TMZ states the rappers “won’t be hanging out as friends.”
The couple allegedly began dating back in June and have since shared photos of each other on their social media pages. In September, Nas posted a series of photos from his intimate birthday celebration in New York City, one of which featured Minaj with the caption, “Virgo Season With my Real One From Queens! @nickiminaj #hennessylife.” A few days after, Nas and Minaj posted images from a seemingly impromptu photo shoot in Queens, which Nas captioned, “Got my Bday 1988 190E Benz & picked up Shorty from Queens! We Out!”
On the music front, Minaj and Nas have both teased new albums. Nas previously told Billboard that a new album would arrive in 2017 “for sure,” though no new material has surfaced. Minaj, however, has dished out a few singles and features in 2017 and is gearing up to unleash her highly anticipated album in 2018.
Billboard reached out to Nas and Minaj’s reps for comment.
