The rapper has used her Beats 1 radio show to offer up her side of the story on the regular, either straight-up, as she did when she addressed her tension with Cardi B last fall, or in song, as she does this week. On Saturday (Feb. 2), Minaj released two freestyles: “Barbie Drip” pulls from Lil Baby and Gunna’s “Drip Too Hard,” and “Barbie Goin Bad,” which has her rhyming over Meek Mill’s collaboration off his latest LP, Championships, with Drake.

“Going Bad” was the highest-riser of the Championships tracks on the Hot 100 and debuted at No. 6 on the chart in December, and is the product of Meek Mill and Drake bringing their years-long feud to an end. The beef — which started when Meek accused Drake of leaning on ghostwriters back in 2015 — was officially squashed back in September after Drake brought Meek out on stage.
Minaj and Meek were dating when the Drake vs. Meek Mill row was at its peak, and with “Barbie Goin Bad,” she dusts off the drama and goes in: she boasts about her success (“I got more slaps than Aretha”) before bringing up Meek’s legal drama and how she supported him before others did (“I was in the court, no Jays and Beys/Made her change her mind in the judge chamber, sleeze”).
She then brings up ghostwriting — “Yeah, I got the juice and I’m takin’ him on a tour/Imitating Nicki while your ghostwriter dissin’ me/Leave for two weeks, I got all of my babies missin’ me” — winking at the root of the initial issue.
Before she wrapped the freestyle, Minaj revealed that new music is on its way as well: she casually mentioned that her label wanted her to get moving on her “fifth thing-thing,” presumably her fifth studio album, and that she may drop a new freestyle every week before her next recorded effort arrives.
