It’s been three years since N.E.R.D. graced the stage together. This year, that will change when the group reunites at this year’s ComplexCon to headline the second annual musical event.
The 2017 ComplexCon will take place at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center on Nov. 4-5. On the first night of the two-day event, N.E.R.D — comprised of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley — will hit the stage for the first time since their 2014 Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival set. Gucci Mane, M.I.A and Young Thug will headline the second night’s music lineup with additional performances from DJ Khaled, A-Trak & Friends, A$AP Ferg, Noname and more.
While the trio’s last album Nothing was released in 2010, Williams has kept a constant presence in the music scene, releasing his solo album G I R L in 2014 and penning records for movies such as Despicable Me 2′s “Happy” — which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — and “Runnin” from 2016’s Hidden Figures.
Last year, Williams teased that a new N.E.R.D album would happen “when it’s time” and while the trio has remained tight-lipped about their forthcoming album, their upcoming ComplexCon reunion is sure to hold fans over until the it arrives.
