After Prodigy was placed to rest last week in New York City, Nas paid tribute to the fallen MC during his set at the WOO HAH Festival in The Netherlands over the weekend.
The “One Mic” wordsmith performed a stirring rendition of Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones.” Once he concluded the song, he led an “RIP Prodigy,” chant to much of the crowd’s delight. “We love you Prodigy,” yelled Nas onstage.
Last month, Prodigy passed away at age 42. The East Coast lyricist died due to complications from his sickle cell anemia, a disease he battled since birth. Nas was among one of the first artists to send out his condolences following Prodigy’s death, writing “QB RIP King P. Prodigy 4 Ever,” on Instagram.
