It’s been a few calendar flips since Mila J put out a proper release, but she makes her formal return to wax with her new mixtape, The Waiting Game.
On her first project since 2014’s Made in LA EP, the Motown Records songstress not only rides the beats co-produced by herself and Immanuel Rich, Eric Cire and Mars (1500 or Nothin) Detail, she hops between rapping and serenading.
The L.A. native also puts her spin on gems like Drake and Future’s What a Time to Be Alive cut “Diamonds,” The Weeknd‘s “Tell Your Friends” and Bryson Tiller’s “Don’t.” Future also lends his bars to the steamy slow jam “Freaknic.”
“It’s been a while since anyone has heard something new from me, so I wanted to drop some new music for my fans while I’m working on my first full length studio album that will be released next year 2016,” Mila J told Complex, which premiered the tape on Thursday (Nov. 11).
