After laying low for much of 2017, Miguel teased his return to music with the Travis Scott-assisted “Sky Walker” last August and followed up with “Shockandawe” earlier this month, leading fans to believe that a new album may be arriving soon. On Wednesday night (Sept. 20), Miguel visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform “Sky Walker” and the 2016 loosie “Come Through and Chill.”
For the breezy “Sky Walker,” Miguel grabs his bass guitar and sits on a stool as soft red and orange lights hovered over the stage. Backed by a live band, the stripped-down, melodic melody blended seamlessly with the singer’s rich, smoky vocals. Miguel later performed the sultry bedroom banger “Come Through And Chill.”
“Hello, stranger, it’s been a minute since we last kicked it/ By the way, I just got in town/ And I won’t let cumulus clouds all in the sky ruin my vibe/ Usually, I don’t do this often but since we’re cooling, is it an option,” he croons on “Come Through And Chill.” “Due to unusual rain and thunder/ Baby, I wonder, baby, I wonder, would you just/ Put your sweats on, put your sweats on for me.”
