Metro Boomin’ and Gunna popped up as the musical guests on Monday night’s (Feb. 11) Tonight Show in support of Metro’s Not All Heroes Wear Capes project.
The ATL duo put some thought into the well-curated stage design for their “Space Cadet” performance. Gunna handled the rapping duties up front, while Young Metro laid the smooth instrumental by orchestrating a team of astronaut violinists behind him.
Boomin’ also made sure to use the platform to bring awareness to the “Free 21 Savage” movement, as the rapper is still being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The pair were draped in all-white attire, with the 25-year-old superproducer rocking a trench coat in support of his incarcerated friend. “Free 21 Savage,” the jacket read in black spraypaint. Metro made sure the message was clearly on display with his back turned to the cameras and audience for most of the performance.
