After absolutely dominating the Billboard Hot 100 with an electric 2017 campaign, Metro Boomin’ decided to get away from music and even announced his retirement from the rap game back in the spring. Rumblings of Metro’s solo return to producing got louder and louder, as billboards began popping up around Atlanta and NYC. On Wednesday’s one-year anniversary of Without Warning, the 25-year-old announced his upcoming Metro Boomin’ Presents: Not All Heroes Wear Capes project.
“NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES. DROP SOME ———- IF YOU READY,” Metro wrote via Instagram on Wednesday. Coinciding with the news, the Double or Nothing producer shared the project’s cover art, which features a person being catapulted into midair thanks to a violent explosion at his back.
Many of Metro’s frequent collaborators have also reposted the project, which could hint at their involvement with possible features from Young Thug, Offset and 21 Savage on the horizon. Not All Heroes Wear Capes remains without a solidified release date, but don’t be shocked if the effort shows up on streaming services shortly after midnight Friday.
