Meek Mill‘s parole violation has put a dent in his New Year’s Eve plans. Originally scheduled to take the stage with his girlfriend Nicki Minaj at Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell in Las Vegas on Dec. 31, the rapper will reportedly stay in his native Philadelphia to perform community service, according to Page Six.
“Following the recent Pennsylvania court ruling, Meek Mill’s scheduled New Year’s Eve performance at Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell in Las Vegas has been postponed until further notice,” a rep for Drai’s confirmed to Billboard over e-mail. “Headliner Nicki Minaj, who is also slated to appear that evening, will perform as scheduled.”
The fourth quarter of 2015 for the MMG MC has been a struggle. On Dec. 17, he was found guilty of violating his probation stemming from a 2009 drug and gun conviction. His beau, Minaj, even testified as his parole hearing, saying, “He’s not perfect but I can’t believe how much he’s changed.”
After failing to adhere to travel and other court-mandated restrictions, Meek was told by a Philadelphia judge earlier this month that he would not work or perform before his Feb. 5 hearing, except community service.
Beyond teasing his forthcoming Dreamchasers 4 mixtape, Meek Mill addressed his adversity in a lengthy note on Instagram (Dec. 10) that read, “I’m actually fighting for my life and freedom … If this is my last post know I will continue to remain strong and grow to b a better man and set a example for every minority with a dream that anything is possible!”
A rep for Meek Mill did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s request for comment.
