To celebrate his 30th birthday this weekend (May 6), Meek Mill released a new EP of three songs (“$lay,” “Left Hollywood” and “Backboard”) titled Meekend Music as well as his new video “Litty” featuring Tory Lanez.
“Litty” finds several young hustlers living the fast life through credit card scamming. Things quickly get heated when the cops are involved and attempt to shut down their operations. Fortunately for the scammers, they’re able to evade the police and continue to ball out.
As the story plays out, Meek and Lanez hang out at the clear port and flex hard on their detractors. “They don’t want to see you win / They don’t want to see the Wraith / You don’t want to see your b—h caught up in the stars / Like she’s outer space,” Meek lashes out.
In addition to Meek’s “Litty” video, the “I’ma Boss” rapper released three new tracks with features from Young Thug and A$AP Ferg. On his A$AP Ferg-assisted “$lay,” Meek continued to take time with his long-time rap rival Drake. Using the 6 God’s ghostwriting allegations as his topic of choice, the Philly MC rapped, “Back in this b—h and you know we reloaded / Look at the credits to tell you who wrote it.”
On “$lay,” he also rattled off several bars towards his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj. “I’m on the roof with that scope / When I hit them little b-tches like Remy my n—a,” he says, referencing MC and Minaj’s foe Remy Ma. For “Left Hollywood,” Meek references Drake’s latest playlist More Life in his attack. “Go to war like we got like four lives/ Talkin’ before like, all this lil’ rap s–t / Where I’m from if you turn 18, then that’s More Life for real n—a,” he spits.
