With the ink drying from his new deal with RCA Records, Maxo Kream delivered his next single in “She Live” on Friday (May 10). The Punken rapper connects with fast-rising fellow Houston native Megan Thee Stallion to exchange playful-yet-sultry verses.
Maxo leisurely brings the tune to life with a catchy chorus. “I need- I- I- I need a Nicki like Safaree, redbone in red Ferrari/ Sneakin’, geekin’ off that molly, cute face, I bought her body/ We hit Follies, we hit Onyx, she hit Magic on Monday/ G5, V-Live, she live and makin’ money,” he raps.
Thee Stallion takes point to then detail exacly what she’s looking for in a man. “I need a boss, I need a kingpin, I need designer pajamas to sleep in/ I need a bae with some hang to go deep in, real bitch with good pussy, street n—a weakness/ Young Tina Snow, real hard on a ho, break that n—a ’til he go broke,” Meg rhymes.
Kream had been reluctant to team with a major label, but he believes that RCA has the right mindset to his artistry to another level. “My team and I did very well independently, but RCA understood my vision for my music and exactly where I wanted to go with my brand, so we made it happen,” the 29-year-old tells Billboard.
Maxo’s manager, Toby Oniytan, also shared a similar sentiment. “Partnering with RCA is great because they have always been a very open-minded label and embrace our plans for what we hope to accomplish, which is making Texas rap bigger than ever,” he adds.
