Massari thrives on up-tempo, dance-floor-ready tunes. For his latest single, “Number One” — premiering exclusively on Billboard below — the international star whips up a sultry, tropical-inspired track and recruits Tory Lanez to help seduce the ladies.
The Zac Facts-directed visual features female dancers seductively dancing on the floor, shrouded in sultry red lights with the Lebanese-Canadian crooner unleashing a few subtle moves of his own. Massari samples the classic reggae hit “Heads High” by Mr. Vegas for his dancehall-tinged track as he sings, “I’m feeling your style/ I can tell that your wild/ Nobody can deny/ The baddest thing gon’ turn the club up.”
Given his knack for sampling dancehall hits as well, Tory Lanez finds himself right at home on “Number One” as his auto-tuned warble glides over the incessant drum beat.
“This is one of my favorite records on this album,” Massari tells Billboard. The “Done Da Da” singer is preparing to release his upcoming US debut album BEIRUT. “The minute I recorded it I could already hear Tory Lanez on it and once he dropped on it, it was like magic. The song speaks for itself: ‘Number One’.”
