ILoveMakonnen, the latest singer to sign to Drake‘s OVO sound imprint, is making the most of his new spotlight.
As Makonnen’s “Club Going Up On a Tuesday” climbs the charts (with help from a Drake verse), the Atlanta singer has released a remix of another one of his best-known songs, “I Don’t Sell Molly No More,” with a new verse from Wiz Khalifa.
Khalifa is a good choice to assist Makonnen, since he’s on a hot streak of his own, recently earning his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. In the original version of the track, Makonnen mentions the West Coast several times, so it makes sense to bring in someone from the California scene. “I turn Gin & Juice dreams to the big screen,” raps Khalifa. “The kid from the ‘burg doing big things.”
