Lupe Fiasco will hold a special one-night-only concert to perform his Grammy Award-winning album Food & Liquor in its entirety. The 2006 project — his debut studio album — reached the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Now, he’s bringing it to back the stage.
The concert will be held at The Novo in downtown Los Angeles on Feb. 23. This unique show will mark his first and only time performing the whole album live and will feature special guest appearances by Gemstones (formerly Gemini) and Matthew Santos.
Fans have been urging the rapper to perform this album live for nearly a decade, and Lupe Fiasco will finally make it happen. “The fans have been asking for it for a long time and the time finally felt right,” Fiasco says in a press release. “This album speaks to a really interesting, but special time in my career and it’s cool to be able to share that in a new way with everyone.”
The rapper has come a long way since this first release in 2006. Twelve Grammy nominations and a 2008 Grammy win later, Fiasco just released his seventh studio album, Drogas Wave, earlier this year.
