Ludacris is here to tell you that the rap game isn’t always what it seems.
Last night (March 26) he premiered “Grass Is Always Greener,” a new single off of his upcoming album Ludaversal, on The Tonight Show. Backed by The Roots, Luda spit about what it’s like to actually live the hip-hop lifestyle. As evidenced by the song’s title, it can be a little more complicated it might seem from the outside.
Between the upcoming album (out March 31) and next week’s release of Furious 7, there’s more than enough Luda to go around.

Also on ESPN, Luda described some of the inspirations for his upcoming album. But rather than alluding to Biggie or Pac, Lu picked a more contemporary (and unlikely) reference: Seahawks runningback Marshawn Lynch. Of his Ludaversal track “Beast Mode” (which was released earlier this month), the rapper said, “The same way he’s plowing down people on the field, I’m plowing down people in the music industry.” He also revealed that he just shot the song’s video with the star football player. “We inspire each other,” Ludacris said.
