While many people believe that Lavar Ball is the most audacious figure in his family clan, his eldest son, Lonzo, appears ready to usurp his throne. After hip-hop heads drowned Ball in a sea of hate after he chose the 21 Savage album over JAY-Z‘s latest on Twitter, the Lakers rookie recently unleashed his claws on another New York legend in Nas.
In a clip from his family’s new Facebook show, Ball in the Family, Ball finds himself talking with someone during a break in between takes. With the conversation concentrated on “real hip-hop,” the former UCLA star quickly tookshots at Nas.
“Y’all outdated, man. Don’t nobody listen to Nas anymore […] Real hip-hop is Migos, Future,” the point guard offered.
In July, Ball was lambasted by social media for saying that 21 Savage’s album Issa trumped JAY-Z’s 4:44. In an interview with Billboard last month, he clarified his remarks.
“I like 4:44. It’s a good album,” said Ball. “JAY-Z’s a great, great artist. You know, his work speaks for itself, but if it’s my opinion, you know, in today’s world, I feel like 21 Savage’s [album] is bumping more. So I just play that right now.”
