The reactions are pouring in from fans who can’t contain their excitement over Lizzo‘s debut performance on Saturday Night Live.
Lizzo brought her two biggest hits — “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” — to SNL‘s mid-season finale on Dec. 21, and the jaw-dropping performances left many fans feeling immense pride over her ability to not hold anything back.
“Seeing all those talented black women on stage rocking Dapper Dan! Yass Lizzo #SNL,” one fan tweeted alongside a gif of legendary actor excitedly clapping during an awards show.
Another fan wrote, “They thought they could cancel Lizzo over twerking #SNL.”
Lizzo’s epic SNL performances on the Eddie Murphy-hosted episode also drew accolades from her musical peers, including singer Lala Hathaway.
“An actual performer and singer,” Hathaway tweeted, adding hashtags #lizzo #seasoned #snl.

P.S. It is good to see women of different sizes and shades on television in general—and on Saturday Night Live. You don’t see this every day. More inclusion and diversity like this, please. Let’s make this happen and keep fighting for it in 2020, and now. #SNL @nbcsnl #Lizzo pic.twitter.com/dopCb7FJQC
