With prom season underway, Lil Yachty transforms his new video “Bring It Back” into an ’80s themed high school party.
Donning a lime green tuxedo, Yachty flexes his sporty dance moves, takes pictures with his crew, and even jumps on-stage to give a special performance to his prom date. “You’ve been gone for too long / it’s time to come home / you need to bring it back,” sings the 19-year-old. Despite the somber lyrics, Yachty wraps up his action-filled night with a kiss at his date’s front doorstep.
Earlier this week, the self-proclaimed “King of the Teens” was the talk of social media after his conversation with Joe Budden. Sparked by Budden’s comments regarding Yachty’s standing in hip hop, the two spoke on the matter and addressed the young star’s motives.
Instead of consuming himself in Twitter drama, Yachty is keeping his foot on the gas. “Bring It Back” serves as Lil Boat’s third single off his debut album Teenage Emotions. He previously released “Hurley” and his Migos-assisted track “Peek a Boo.” With his album release date set for May 26, Yachty is preparing to embark on his newly announced Teenage Tour, in support of his project. The tour will launch Aug. 11 in Dallas, TX and conclude Oct. 20 in Atlanta, GA. Tickets go on-sale Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. EST on his website.
