In addition to his duties as the musical guest on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, Lil Wayne joined Future to bring his music video experience to the show by popping up in a short clip about consent.
As fictional rap crew Booty Kings, SNL‘s Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd and a grill-sporting Pete Davidson hit the club with manners and basic decency at the ready for “Permission.” Thompson and Redd rolled through several bars about respecting women, their bodies and their boundaries, stressing they’d “love to touch that booty/but respect that it’s your choice” as “allies in this bitch” while rocking Time’s Up pins.
Weezy and Future joined the discourse by backing up that sentiment: Future insists he’ll “hunt for consent like a bounty,” while Lil Wayne, cup in hand, promises that “before we get emotional/I’m putting on protection.”
“Permission” may have been taped beforehand, but Lil Wayne brought out Halsey and Swizz Beats during the episode for rousing live performances of “Can’t Be Broken” and “Uproar” off his latest album, Tha Carter V.
