Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival came to a close on Sunday (May 13), but fans are still buzzing from Lil Uzi Vert‘s high-flying antics from day one (May 11). Additional opening day acts saw electric sets from some of hip-hop’s elite including Young Thug, Jaden Smith, J. Cole, Playboi Carti and many more.
Uzi stole the show with an audacious performance during last year’s Rolling Loud, during which he recklessly jumped from a two-story scaffolding. The scene quickly went viral across the globe, adding to the rock star’s eccentric reputation as a performer. He may be trying to make that a yearly tradition, because the “Sauce It Up” rapper attempted another ill-advised leap of faith from a tent into a sea of fans on Friday (May 11).
Before vaulting himself into the air, the 23-year-old danced and sent a prayer into the skies as “XO TOUR Llif3” boomed throughout the venue’s speakers. Once the Philly native emerged above the crowd surfing in a white t-shirt and black jeans to safety, his “444+222” instrumental sent the crowd into a frenzy, making for a euphoric moment.
