Quality Control kicked off the rollout of its Quality Control: Control The Streets Volume 2 compilation album on Wednesday (July 17) with a pair of tracks. One connects the Babies of hip-hop by fittingly teaming QC’s Lil Baby and DaBaby on the Wheezy-produced “Baby,” which marks their third collaboration together.
The ATL native salutes the late Bankroll Fresh and goes on to brag about how even though he’s become a millionaire, he still hasn’t switched up on his day ones and stays in the projects. “Baby got the streets on hold, he ain’t drop yet/ I’ve been goin’ hard, it’s gon’ be hard for you to top that/ I make it look easy, but this shit really a process/ I’m really a millionaire, still in the projects,” he rhymes.
DaBaby invades the beat and compares his Billion Dollar Entertainment label to what Diddy accomplished with the Bad Boy Records empire in the ’90s. “I tell my bitch I’m faithful, but I still got the hoes/ Baby gettin’ jiggy, on stage with the Glizzy/ Baby CEO, he shake the game like he Diddy/ You would think it’s Mardi Gras, I got these bitches showin’ titties,” the “Suge” artist raps.
In addition to “Baby,” QC also dropped “Come On” featuring the City Girls and Saweetie. Give Lil Baby and Da Baby’s latest offering a listen below. Quality Control: Control The Streets Volume 2 arrives Aug. 16.
