For five years, a curse from the self-proclaimed “Based God” Lil B has befuddled Kevin Durant, following him through Oklahoma City Thunder’s devastating loss against the Golden State Warriors during this year’s Western Conference Finals of the NBA Playoffs.
KD can now rest easy, though, as the California rapper has rescinded the curse following Durant’s move from OKC to the Bay as the newest member of the Golden State Warriors, Lil B’s home team. “”The BasedGod” wants to speak,As life unravels and superstars make decisions that change lifes, welcome home KD the curse is lifted – Lil B,” he tweeted (July 5).

Lil B cursed KD back in January of 2011 after Durant tweeted his confusion about the MC’s success.
I tried to listen to Lil B and my mind wouldn’t let me do it….can’t believe this guy is relevant

Though Lil B temporarily lifted the curse in 2012 after Durant and the Thunder lost to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, a “F–k KD” in 2014 and several tweets showed the curse was still in full-effect.
Just got word from ” The BasedGod ” that the thunder will not be beating the Warriors in the playoffs series,Durant is still cursed – Lil B

In a 2015 Billboard interview, Lil B said he would consider lifting the curse if Durant agreed to face him on the court.
“Once he sticks to his word and plays me in a game of 21,” he said. “He agreed to it, and then he came back on his word. Until he plays Lil B, I really don’t see him winning any championships any time soon. And he’s cursed.”
Now, KD won’t need to face Lil B on the court in order to win a chip. “A player can shows their heart with their actions,” Lil B recently told CBS Sports. “Kevin Durant didn’t really need to say anything, he showed with his actions that he wants to be a Warrior. He is a warrior. He’s coming to Oakland, California! So the Based God seen Durant’s heart and earnestness and said it was only right for the curse to be lifted.”
