Lauryn Hill was “tardy for the party” in Pittsburgh. The Grammy-winning singer showed up three hours late to her concert at Heinz Hall Tuesday (Jan. 31).
According to a fan tweet, Hill left her band waiting right along with a “packed house.”

The show was a stop on Hill’s The MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! concert series, announced last year.
“The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African diaspora while on tour this summer and fall,” Hill said of the tour. “In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self Love and appreciation that hopefully overflows into our respective communities.”
Though it’s unclear why she was so late in Pittsburgh, it’s not the first time that one of Hill’s performances didn’t go as planned.
