James Corden’s cold open for Wednesday night’s (Sept. 12) Late Late Show took a strange turn with an “I Love It” send-up.
The music-loving late night host was joined by comedian/bandleader Reggie Watts as the pair stepped into a brightly lit hallway wearing giant, boxy suits and enormous shoes similar to the ones Kanye West and Lil Pump sport in the Spike Jonze executive produced “I Love It” video. As the duo slowly made their way down the hall they put their own twist on the lyrics, rapping, “This is the Late Late Show, you’ll love it,” Watts sang in an AutoTuned voice, with Corden adding, “Desk and a chair, we follow Colbert/ Last week we had Cher, her talent so rare/ So fix yourself a drink, recline armchair/ Will you change the channel?/ I know you won’t dare.”
