KYLE, the California rapper, recruited Lil Yachty on the buoyant single, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio. With a thumping, bass-driven beat textured with cheery whistles and innocent backing vocals from children, “Hey Julie!” exudes an undeniable sense of feel-good fun. KYLE and Lil Yachty effortlessly rap their way through the song’s speedy verses with razor-sharp precision.
“Hey Julie!,” a playful ode to KYLE’s jeweler, truly takes off with its infectious hook, on whicj he sings, “Hey Julie, heard you got that wet wet wet/ Something for my neck neck neck/ Hey Julie, heard you got that drip, got that drip/ Something for my wrist, for my wrist.”
This isn’t the first time KYLE and Lil Yachty have come together to make musical magic. The two first previously collaborated on the similarly-infectious 2016 single “iSpy.”
