Killer Mike made a brief run for office in Atlanta’s special election for Senate District 55 on Tuesday, before realizing he’s not eligible.
Killer Mike on Bill O’Reilly: ‘He’s More Full of S— Than an Outhouse’
The politically engaged Run the Jewels rapper posted to Twitter and Instagram on Monday (June 15) that his fans should write his name in — his real name, Michael Render — for the State Senate special election. He even coined a quick, catchy slogan: “If I Win, We Win.”

Unfortunately for Mike, his hopes for office were cut short. As he wrote in another post later, if he were going to run, he would have needed to officially enter as a write-in candidate to be eligible to win.
Not all hope is lost, though: He said he will run someday, and in the meantime he encouraged everyone to stay engaged in local politics and run for office themselves.
