
Killer Mike and Bernie Sanders got buddy buddy over lunch in Atlanta on Monday (Nov. 23), before the rapper delivered a powerful introduction to the presidential hopeful at a rally later in the day.

The odd couple sat down at soul food joint Busy Bee, where Sanders reportedly ate fried chicken with yams and Mike said they discussed Martin Luther King, Jr., his war on poverty and war, unions and “the grand fight against the ruling class.”

Later, the Run the Jewels rapper’s introduction to Sanders received great praise, with many saying it was more of a speech of his own to the hometown crowd. Some even began suggesting Mike run as Sanders’ vice president.

“I’m here because working class and poor people deserve a chance at economic freedom,” said Mike.
He added, “I have no desire to see us elect our own Margaret Thatcher.”
