Following a 2014 incident where a woman claimed that she was assaulted by Keyshia Cole, the singer has been ordered to pay a $100,000 settlement, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred at Birdman’s Los Angeles residence where Keyshia reportedly showed up and saw another woman, the alleged victim Sabrina Mercadel. Outraged by her discovery, Cole allegedly confronted Mercadel, who claimed the singer attacked her and ultimately caused her to lose the use of a finger.
The victim later sued the “You” singer for $4 million. Cole’s failure to appear in court worked in Mercadel’s favor, who will reportedly be awarded a settlement of $100,635.
Cole recently released her seventh album 11:11 Reset, her first following 2014’s Point of No Return and her debut album since signing with Epic Records in 2016.
Billboard has reached out to Keyshia Cole’s rep for comment.
