Los Angeles’ favorite son (of the moment, at least), Kendrick Lamar, will throw out the Dodgers’ first pitch on April 27, it was announced Friday.
The baseball team revealed the news with a bit of social media savvy: The Dodgers’ twitter account responded to a tweet of the rap star’s from a few days earlier promoting the release of his “King Kunta” video, posting a still of the new clip that shows Lamar wearing a Dodgers cap.
“Really diggin’ that lid, @kendricklamar. See you April 27 for your first pitch,” the organization wrote.
The Dodgers will be facing off against their Northern California rivals, the San Francisco Giants.
If he’s lucky, maybe the Compton native will even get his own playing card.
