The secret’s out: Kendrick Lamar will play a special show this Friday (Dec. 16) at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase from 10am ET today via Ticketmaster. And for those unable to score a ticket or an invite, the gig will be livestreamed via Facebook Live on Lamar’s and Amex’s Facebook pages.
The rapper superstar’s Brooklyn gig is the latest through a budding relationship with American Express. The Compton native recently went one-on-one with retired NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal in an Amex commercial as part of its “Shop Small” campaign, and he performed in Miami earlier this month for AMEX’s Music Meets Art campaign during Art Basel.
The upcoming show caps another remarkable year for Lamar, who secured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 in March with his surprise project Untitled, Unmastered. He also landed five wins from 11 nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards off the back of his hit 2015 sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly.
