Kendrick Lamar has taken to calling himself the king of New York, and the Los Angeles MC defended his new turf at a show in Williamsburg Park on Tuesday.
In the wake of Lamar’s name-checking “Control” verse, Meek Mill has fired off response tracks including “Kendrick You Next” and “Ooh Kill ‘Em,” prompting some talk (but no diss verses) from Lamar on Tuesday.
“I have no time for irrelevant n***as [or] new n***as,” he told the crowd, according to the website All Hip-Hop. “There’s one n***a in particular that needs to realize that there’s ‘levels’ to this s**t,” a reference to Mills’ hit of the same name. “I’m motherf***in’ King Kendrick.”

“King of what?” Mill asked on Twitter, not to be outdone. “Somebody please tell me.”
