Kendrick Lamar is a fountain of bars. After rolling out his surprise project Untitled, Unmastered earlier this month, the Compton MC used his freestyling skills during an impromptu meet and greet-turned-cypher at a hip-hop workshop in Manchester, England, presented by Reebok Classic.
In the video, K.Dot shared the mic with the young rhymers, who try to spit their best lines for the Grammy winner, backed by live musicians.
The “Alright” rapper recently spoke of his collaboration with Reebok (they released the Ventilators sneakers last July) in an interview with The Coveteur and how he’s using his shoe deal to give back to the community.
“The Ventilators, that was just the first step of what can be done and the positive reaction that we got, that was just a kick start of what’s to come,” he said. “I see providing activities, like huge activities — me and Reebok getting involved in something way, way, way, way bigger, inside the communities. To have a brand actually come there, come to the soil and do something bigger than just a shoe, I haven’t seen it done in the magnitude that I see it in my head.”
