Kendrick Lamar, though not known for his ambitions of mogul-dom, is making a foray into lifestyle branding with a somewhat unlikely corporate partner: Sweetgreen, an East Coast salad chain. The company has been selling shirts that say “Beets Don’t Kale My Vibe” since 2013, stacking veggie puns on the name of Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city single “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.”
Now the puns have become reality, as the clever phrase has been turned into an actual kale and beet salad to honor Kendrick’s headlining slot at Sweetgreen’s Sweetlife Festival next month. The salad, which “contains shredded local kale, roasted chicken, goat cheese, organic wild rice, and flash roasted beets, which are marinated in balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and a hint of honey,” will be available at all Sweetgreen locations through May, with 10 percent of every sale going to the healthy living and education non-profit FoodCorps.

Kendrick getting into the restaurant biz is all well and good, but we’re still left wondering: what’s the recipe?
