Keith James isn’t entirely down in the dumps for the remix of his single “Not My Day,” premiering on Billboard. His dream collaborator Cee Lo Green has hopped on the upbeat jam, adding his signature funk.
“Working with someone you’ve always looked up to is the dream,” James tells Billboard. “I got to realize that dream with Cee Lo.”

Mick Schultz — the producer known for his work with Jeremih who recently contributed the melody for “Desperado” to Rihanna‘s Anti album — adds, “[This] song’s very very special to me because when I made that record, me and Keith actually thought about Cee Lo. I just thought, ‘This is something I think Cee Lo would be into.’ We got to play it for Cee Lo and he saw the vision and wanted to be a part of it.”
James recently debuted his winter-ready track “Running Back” featuring fellow Chicago rep Jeremih. The semi-animated visual for “Not My Day” has collected over 660,000 views on YouTube since its debut last year.
