Jesus is coming…. nope, false alarm.
Thousands, perhaps millions, stayed up late to pray at the altar of ‘Ye for the release of his new album, Jesus Is King.
If timeliness is next to godliness, Kanye West didn’t read the script. The hip-hop star has history with being unfashionably late with releases, and so it was again as Jesus failed to arrive at midnight, as promised.
As the hours rolled by, Kanye was trending on social media as fans and reporters waited. And waited, and waited some more. They didn’t hold back, of course, as West and his broken watch became a lightning rod for memes.
In the wee hours, West gave an update. “To my fans,” he tweeted. “Thank you for being loyal & patient We are specifically fixing mixes on “Everything We Need” “Follow God” & “Water” We not going to sleep until this album is out!”
