Kanye West made a rare appearance on Twitter to remember Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani — who passed away on Thursday (Dec. 22) at age 66 in Milan after a long unspecified illness, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
“Franca Sozzani was always so nice and sincere,” Wes tweeted. “You will be deeply missed.”

Sozzani teased a Vogue Italia art project with the rapper-cum-designer in 2013 and praised his talents. “He’s more than music. He’s not only about music,” she told E! News at a Dream For Future Africa Foundation event.
Beyond a headline-grabbing meeting with president elect Donald Trump earlier this month, West himself has kept a low profile. In November, he was hospitalized for exhaustion, according to a source, and canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour, a trek in support of his Grammy-nominated album The Life of Pablo.
Other celebrities who paid homage to Sozzani, who helmed the Italian Vogue for 28 years, included Madonna, Bella Hadid and Paris Hilton.
