No days off for Kanye West. After releasing his seventh studio LP The Life of Pablo earlier this month, the Chicago multi-hyphenate took to Twitter to announce album no. 8 titled Turbo Grafx 16, a salute to an old-school video game console.
‘Ye’s longtime pal, Ibn Jasper, snapped a pic of the album’s studio sessions on Sunday (Feb. 28), which showed Mr. West putting in work with producers Mike Dean and Plain Pat, as well as Kid Cudi. “TURBO GRAFX 16 day 1#PABLo #MikeDean #CUDi #PlainPat,” read the caption. (Cudder also contributed to Pablo‘s “Waves” which features Chris Brown.)
West recently let slip that he has other tracks with Drake, Future and Young Thug in the stash. He also previewed the Jay Z-sampling track “Closest Thing To Einstein” at a VIP party in Los Angeles’ 1OAK club. Per Kanye,Turbo Grafx 16 is expected to drop this summer.
