After changing his album’s title from King Push to Daytona on Wednesday (May 23), Pusha T hosted an intimate listening party in New York City later that night for his upcoming album. Among the songs Push previewed was a track titled “What Would Meek Do?” featuring another Kanye West “whoop, scoop” scat, reminiscent of the one Ye did on his recent single “Lift Yourself.”
Thanks to a fan-shot video from the listening party, we can hear how Ye’s “whoop, scoop” scat on “What Would Meek Do?” creeps in as Pusha ends his verse. Then, Ye addresses his detractors, rapping, “Am I too complex for Complex Con?/Everything ‘Ye says comes a new debate/ You say, ‘He been out of touch, he can not relate/ ‘His hallway too long,’ b—-h too bad.”
Ye continues to respond to his haters by warning, “You gotta watch who you call crazy/Yeezy, the newest billion-dollar baby.”
Aside from Kanye, Rick Ross is the only other feature on Daytona, which clocks in at just seven tracks. Seven also seems to be the lucky number for all the upcoming G.O.O.D Music releases judging from a photo Kanye shared with the tracklists for not only his album, but his joint project with Kid Cudi called Kids See Ghosts and albums from Pusha, Nas and Teyana Taylor — all of which Kanye executive produced.
