Kanye West posted a short highlight reel recapping his recent trips to various locations around the globe Monday night (Oct. 29).
Yeezy looks to provide fans with more insight into his direction and what his life’s mission has become over the course of 2018. The two-minute clip shows the 41-year-old reuniting with longtime friend and collaborator Virgil Abloh, meeting with Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia, and even gives his handwritten definition to what his idea of a “Free America” entails.
The informative trek included stops in Ye’s hometown of Chicago, Paris, Uganda, Tokyo, and Detroit. “Open it up and letting shit flow through as a vessel — clean and not selfish, then we win because it’s a we. I can’t save the world, we can,” Kanye asserts at the onset of the video. “I don’t have a more important position than anyone, because we need arms.”
At one point, West is shown writing out the qualities he wants to see in a “Free America” on a whiteboard. Most of the keywords are talking points he’s used in previous streams of consciousness, such as the importance of maintaining a high quality workforce and space force. Another idea the “Lift Yourself” rapper has shown a passion for is the process of prehabilitation, a term typically used in the medical community.
Kanye has also repeatedly harped on the concept of “exposure” to help people develop a better understanding of one another. “We only have today. People used to [say], ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day.’ Well, this will be,” West says.
