Kanye West’s media blitz shows no signs of slackening. The rapper has performed “Only One” for British TV audiences, just 24 hours after he made his first-ever appearance on Scandinavian TV.
Though he didn’t stick around long to chat, Kanye played his new song on the pre-taped Jonathan Ross Show, which aired Saturday night on the U.K.’s free-to-air ITV. He gave a rendition of the same song Friday night for the Swedish talk show Skavlan. Watch his U.K. performance below.
Ross has a reputation of turning awkward situations into TV gold. He had one of those moments with Kanye, who flopped to the ground mid-performance and failed to get up again. So the talk-show host joined him. “I like a lie down at this time of night as well,” Ross said to his famous guest, who clearly wasn’t keen on small-talk. Ross took control of the situation by turning his back and inviting Kanye to spoon him. “If you want to spoon I don’t mind. Knock yourself out. It’s not as big as Kim’s,” he said, referring to his butt, “but it is all yours.” Kanye took a moment to stir. When he did, he gave a big smile and a shake of the head.
Kanye has been in full-scale publicity-mode since he first performed — and hassled Beck — at the Grammys on Feb. 8. He shed tears in an interview Feb. 26 with outgoing BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe, he delivered an expletive-laden performance at last week’s Brit Awards, and on the weekend he posted the art and title for his anticipated new album, So Help Me God.
“Only One,” is an ode to ‘Ye’s late mother, Donda West, and his daughter with Kim Kardashian-West, North West.
