
Kanye West made the most of his Saturday Night Live appearance on Feb. 13 by dropping his new album, Life of Pablo, after performing two new tracks from the long-awaited release.

West basked in the spotlight during his SNL opener “Highlights,” where he stood on stage alone for a minute before bringing out guests Young Thug, El Debarge, Kelly Price and The-Dream.
Later in the episode, West gave a glowing performance of Pablo track “Ultralight Beam” with the assistance of The-Dream, Price, Kirk Franklin and Chance the Rapper.

Immediately after the second performance, West announced the release of Pablo, saying, “Kanye West dot com right now, Tidal streaming right now.”
West also appeared in an SNL sketch alongside cast member Kyle Mooney, who challenged him to a freestyle battle with the goal of becoming the “greatest rapper alive.” As seen in the video below, things didn’t quite go as he anticipated.
