Kanye West has got A$AP Bari’s back.
The veteran hip-hop star just posted on Instagram in support of A$AP Bari, the A$AP Mob co-founder who is facing sexually assaulted allegations.
West is siding with Bari, who he praises for his “perspective and vision” and thanks for much of the success of his new track with Lil Pump, “I Love It”. “There’s no way I would have the number 1 record in the world without this man here,” ‘Ye writes. “He broke me out of my pretentious rich n**** shell.”
West also expresses some regret for not publicly backing XXXTentacion, when the late rapper was facing his own demoestic abuse claims. “Bari challenged me when no one else did and when he got in trouble I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with xxx and that was some pussy shit on my part,” Kanye adds.
The G.O.O.D. Music founder continues, “I let the perception and the robots control me. That’s the true sunken place. Bari I appreciate your perspective and vision. You brought me closer to Rocky too. Jedis never let perception and cancel culture get between them.”
Last year, Bari was sued for sexual assault by a woman who claimed he threatened and exposed her naked in a video posted to the Internet. The entrepreneur was sued for more than $1 million over the alleged July 2017 incident in a London hotel where members of A$AP Mob were staying. Bari, who denies the claims, was reportedly arrested at Heathrow Airport in May, and subsequently counter-sued the woman, citing defamation.
Kanye is gearing up for the release of a new album, Yandhi, which he says is due this Friday (Sept. 29). Read his Instagram post in full below.
