Back in July, Chance The Rapper shared that Kanye West would be coming back to Chicago to produce on his upcoming album. Yeezy made a triumphant return to his hometown earlier this week and even gave a pair of honest interviews to longtime Chi-town radio staples on Wednesday (Aug. 29). Footage later surfaced Wednesday night of West in a studio session alongside Chance.
The 41-year-old posted a clip chopping up a classic Jackson 5 sample in honor of what would have been Michael Jackson‘s 60th birthday. “We had to chop this up for Michael’s birthday,” West wrote on Twitter. The video sees Kanye feeling his latest creation with a signature head bob that samples 1971’s “Never Can Say Goodbye.” Chano looks to be giving his stamp of approval in the background as well.
ATL beat maestro Zaytoven posted a photo with Yeezy and the Coloring Book rapper in the same clothes as the previously mentioned clip, so it seems Zay made his presence felt in the same recording session. Earlier in the day (Aug. 29), while speaking to reporters after leaving a local radio station, Kanye confirmed that he was in town to work with Chance. “I came home to work with Chance on his new album,” he said.
