Kanye West made a surprise visit to Howard University in Washington, D.C., on Saturday (Oct. 12).
Ye’s impromptu appearance at Howard — one of the country’s most prominent historically black universities — came as a big surprise to students, who were in the middle of preparing for homecoming events.
West, with wife Kim Kardashian and their kids in tow, held his Sunday Service at around 8 a.m., attracting hundreds of people on campus. During the performance, Yeezy performed his 2014 hit “Jesus Walks” and spoke to the crowd about concerns of African Americans, Christianity, and more.
“God, reveal the lies, let us stop feeling victimized, show my people the way, show my people how to love, forgive and pray,” West told the crowd, according to the Washington Post.
Later in the day, Ye gave another surprise performance at George Washington University.
