Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West enjoyed a great night out on Monday (Dec. 3) when they attended the Broadway opening of The Cher Show. And while it sounds like the couple loved the production, there was one tiny hiccup: Ye was texting during the musical featuring 35 songs from Cher’s long, illustrious career. And he got busted for it.
“Hey @KanyeWest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow!,” tweeted actor Jarrod Spector, who plays the singer’s ex-husband and musical foil, Sonny Bono, in the show. “If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Properly chastened, West responded a short time later, promising Spector that he and Kardashian West were so caught up in the show they were gripping hands and singing at the top of their lungs, apologizing for his rudeness. “The dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’ please pardon my lack of etiquette,” he wrote. “We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”

No word on whether Kim kept her phone holstered the whole time, but according to a tweet, she also really loved the show and encourage her followers to check it ou.
The Cher Show was sooooo good! I learned so much about her that I didn’t know. She really opened up about her life and all of the actors were sooo good! You all have to check it when in NYC. We had the best time! ?
