Kanye West made a surprise appearance at Chance The Rapper‘s Open Mike event in Chicago Monday night (Sept. 17), and he came with some pleasant news. Yeezy announced that he and Chance The Rapper were indeed working on a new collab album titled Good Ass Job.
“Me and Chance working on a new album. It’s called ‘Good Ass Job,'” the 41-year-old told the crowd, sending them into an all-out celebration. Good Ass Job was actually supposed to be the name of Yeezy’s fourth album prior to the death of his mother in 2007, which prompted him to craft 808s & Heartbreak.
West followed up with some personal news regarding his new full-time residence. “I moved back to Chicago and I’m never leaving again,” he declared as fans broke out into several “Kanye” chants.
Additionally, the G.O.O.D. Music CEO is slated to perform as the musical guest on the season 44 opener of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 29. Later Monday (Sept. 17), the Chicago-bred rapper nearly broke the internet when he tweeted out a photo of a clear CD case, à la Yeezus, with an iMessage that read, “YANDHI 9 29 18.”
The possible Yeezus successor could be hinting at the release date for his next project. This would mark the first time in Kanye West’s historic career that he would be dropping a pair of solo albums within a calendar year.
