Junglepussy isn’t afraid to flaunt her fashion and often makes it known that style comes naturally to her. The New York rapper — born Shayna McHayle — consistently posts her swanky, colorful looks on Instagram with equally saucy captions. On her latest album, Jp3 (out now), she delivers effortless quips about her designer jeans among other topics, like her favorite foods and having the ability to steal one’s man.
After dropping the singles “State of the Union” and “Showers” earlier this year, McHayle has released her first album in three years — a follow up to 2015’s Pregnant With Success. Jp3 combines Junglepussy’s hard-hitting delivery with sensual, smooth production — making it the type of project that’d be perfect for cruising in the city during the upcoming summer.
On the 10-track release, Junglepussy drops double-entendres like “My birthday Halloween so I’m freakier than you” (“State of the Union”) and collaborates with Gangsta Boo for a tag-team between two female rappers known for their no-holds-barred lyrics (“Long Way Home”).
The sultry chorus of the Wiki-assisted “Ocean Floor” even finds the rapper making a playful allusion to Chris Rock’s feature on the end of “Blame Game” by Kanye West, while the single “Trader Joe” recalls the health-conscious grocery store — which McHayle previously did on 2014’s “Nah” as she rapped about having a “shopping cart full of health.”
